Tosh: A High-Altitude Paradise

Tosh is a small village with scenic views. The Kasol to Tosh distance is about 20 km, followed by a short trek of approximately 2-3 km from Barshaini. You will have to take a cab, because there is no Kasol to Tosh bus service. The Kasol to Tosh trek offers jaw-dropping views and cool vibes.

Malana: The Mysterious Village

Malana is a unique and ancient village located in the Parvati Valley. Known for its distinct culture, language, and untouched traditions, Malana is about 21 km from Kasol and reachable by cab and trekking. On the way back to Kullu from Kasol, there is a village, Jari (Dunkhara, to be exact), from where you have to take a diversion. After reaching the last motorable spot, you have to cover the remaining distance by trekking. The trek itself is about 5 km. The trek is moderately challenging but rewards you with breathtaking views and pine forests

The special thing about Malana is its isolation. The villagers follow ancient customs and believe they are descendants of Alexander the Great. The locals worship the Lord Jamlu Rishi. Visitors are expected to respect the rules and observe the culture from a distance. Despite its remoteness, Malana attracts tourists from all over the world.

Kheerganga: A Spiritual Trek

Situated just across a bridge over the Parvati River, Chalal is a short hike from Kasol. It is a peaceful riverside village known for its scenic beauty and calm atmosphere. Surrounded by dense forests and the Parvati River, the village has its unique charm. It is popular for its hiking trails, its ambience and a blend of calmness and party vibes

Manikaran: Let’s Have A Hot Water Dip

Manikaran is 20 km away from Kasol. It is a holy place for Hindus as well as Sikhs. The major attractions here are Ram Mandir and Gurudwara. There is an ancient Shiv Mandir adjacent to Gurudwara. You will find boiling hot water available for everyone here. There is a history associated with this boiling hot water. It is believed that Lord Shiva’s anger caused this hot water to erupt from the earth upon losing the gem (mani) of Goddess Parvati.

After the spiritual experience, take a stroll to the local market. The market is full of woollen clothes, Himachali caps, handcrafted souvenirs, and Tibetan jewellery. Pick a unique gift for your loved ones.

Chalal & Katagla: The Beautiful Villages

Bijli Mahadev Temple

Perched at an altitude of 2,460 metres, Bijli Mahadev temple is one of the most sacred and scenic temples in Himachal, located near Kullu. The temple offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Kullu and Parvati valleys. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient wooden temple is well known for the legend that a lightning bolt strikes the Shivling every few years, shattering it, only to be restored by the priest using butter and sattoo.

If you want to visit the place, you need to reach the base point near Chansari village in Kullu. It is a short trek of about 2 km, and it’s completely worth it for nature lovers and spiritual seekers.
